Sydney FC's Top Five Moments at Allianz Stadium

We've had some memorable matches at Allianz Stadium. Look back on five of our favourites.

The Seven Goal Sensation

The most goals scored in a single game for the Sky Blues when Sydney FC beat Wellington 7-1. Four of the strikes came from Alessandro Del Piero. In a scintillating display, the Italian showcased all his class to notch a hat-trick before half time, capping off his stellar performance with a well-worked fourth with 20 minutes remaining.

The 2017 Grand Final

Milos Ninkovic's winning goal in the penalty shoot out and his dash to jump into the Cove to celebrate is a legendary Sky Blue moment.
Rhyan Grant had cancelled out Besart Berisha's opener for Melbourne Victory, leading to a dramatic spot kick shoot-out that saw Ninkovic keep his nerve and secure a 4-2 victory and a Double for Graham Arnold's men.

Valentine Day's Massacre

Sydney FC took to the field in the final game of the regular season needing to beat opponents Melbourne Victory to claim a first Premiership. In front of heaving crowd, Slovakian Karol Kisel got the Sky Blues off to the perfect start with a volley from outside the area, before John Aloisi sealed the win, and silverware, with a rocket of a shot in the second half.

Janko Breaks Records

In a match that had everything, Sydney FC beat Brisbane Roar 5-4 in the rain to move into second place on the ladder, with marquee Marc Janko dominating the headlines. The big Austrian became the first player in A-League history to score in seven consecutive games, while also eclipsing Alessandro Del Piero’s scoring record of 14 goals in a season.

Brosque's Derby Delight

Alex Brosque slammed home a late winner as Sydney FC came back from 2-0 down to win beat Wanderers in the Derby in front of a then record crowd. Estatic Members of the Cove jump on the fence to join in the celebration in an iconic moment at the Sydney Football Stadium.
